Storage Tips
The Best Way to Store Leftovers
Store leftovers for up to 3 days in a covered container in the refrigerator.
Leftover salmon is best if eaten cold but could also be reheated in a low oven or microwave. This leftover honey garlic glazed salmon would be fantastic in my Easy Salmon Bowls!
Recipe Tips
- Salmon Cuts – Center cut salmon is best for this recipe, but if you can’t get the center cut fillets, at least make sure they are all the same thickness so that they cook up evenly. It doesn’t work well to have center cut pieces and thinner tail pieces.
- Crispy Crust – Starting the salmon on a hot preheated pan helps to get a crispy crust without having to pan-fry it and gives it a head start on cook time. You can skip this step if you want, but you may need to adjust the cooking time slightly.
- Make This Gluten-Free – Tamari can replace the soy sauce if you avoid gluten.
- Add Some Lime – Lime juice can replace the rice vinegar for a slightly different flavor. Honey Garlic Salmon with lime would be good garnished with cilantro.

Honey Garlic Salmon
Ingredients
- 4 (6-ounce) Center cut salmon fillets
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons Sriracha optional
- 2 Garlic cloves minced
- 1 teaspoon Cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
- Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425℉. Line a heavy, rimmed baking sheet with foil and place in the oven to preheat for at least 5-6 minutes.
- While the pan is preheating, mix together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha and garlic in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and add in the cornstarch slurry. Boil for 1 minute until thickened. Remove from heat. Pour about half of the glaze into a separate small bowl. Set aside.
- Season the salmon filets with salt and pepper.
- Once the pan is hot, carefully remove from the oven and spray generously with nonstick cooking spray.
- Using tongs, place salmon fillets skin side down on the preheated baking pan. Brush ½ of the glaze onto the tops and sides of the salmon and return the pan to the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is flakey and just cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 140℉. You can reglaze and broil the salmon for the last minute or two of the cooking time to get a deeper color on the glaze if desired.
- Brush the salmon with the remaining glaze and garnish with sliced green onion and sesame seeds, serve immediately with rice or steamed vegetables.
