How To Make Orange Creamsicle Cake
- Bake cake – Mix together the ingredients called for on the box, except sub the liquid (water or milk) for orange soda. Bake as directed in a greased 9×13-inch bakeng pan.
- Poke – Use the tines of a fork for small holes, or the round end of a wooden spoon for larger holes.
- Mix the filling – Stir together Jello, hot water, and sweetened condensed milk and pour it over the top of the cake.
- Chill – Pop the cake in the fridge for about an hour. You could even leave it overnight.
- Make the frosting – Whisk together pudding mix and milk, then fold in the whipped topping and orange zest.
- Frost the cake – Use an offset spatula to frost the cake.
- Serve – Cut into squares and serve with a dollop of whipped cream and an orange slice for garnish.
Storage
Cover with plastic wrap and store the cake in the pan in the refrigerator. Or store individual slices in an airtight container. It will remain fresh for a few days.

Orange Creamsicle Cake
Ingredients
- 15.25 ounce Box white cake mix
- 1 1/4 cups Orange soda
- 1/3 cup Vegetable oil
- 3 Egg whites or 2 whole eggs
Filling:
- 3 ounce Box orange jello
- 1/3 cup Hot water
- 14 ounce Sweetened condensed milk
Frosting:
- 3.4 ounce Box cheesecake instant pudding or vanilla flavor
- 1 cup Milk
- 8 ounce Whipped topping like Cool Whip
- 1 tablespoon Orange zest plus more for garnish
- Optional garnishes: orange slices, whipped topping, orange zest
Instructions
Cake
- Preheat oven to 350℉ and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl mix together cake mix, orange soda, oil and eggs. Pour into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until center is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, then poke holes all over the cake using the round end of a wooden spoon or the tines of a fork. Set aside.
Filling
- In a medium bowl, whisk together jello, hot water and sweetened condensed milk. Pour over the top of cake and spread into the holes.
- Place cake in the refrigerator for at least one hour, or up to overnight.
Frosting
- In a large bowl, whisk together pudding mix and milk until it just starts to get thick, then fold in the whipped topping and orange zest.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the chilled cake.
- For serving, garnish with orange zest, whipped cream and orange slices if desired.

Made this cake for a large 4th of July party… would have taken a picture but it disappeared so fast I would have had nothing to photo but an empty pan!! So easy and bursting with orange flavor!!! Will make it again and again!!!

I would just swap out Vanilla pudding mix if you can find that.

I do have a question about the instructions – it says to substitute water for the orange soda – should that read substitute orange soda for the water as stated on the back of the box?
That confused me too, lol. I’m quite sure she just meant the opposite. I subbed orange soda for water and came out great.
