This Apple Cider Punch is surprisingly light, refreshing, and full of fall flavors with a delicious combination of apple cider, ginger ale, and lemon. Add whiskey or a spiced liquor for a grown-up version or serve it as is for a non-alcoholic party punch that everyone can enjoy.

Why I Love the Recipe

  • Easy to Make – Just pour in a few ingredients and mix them together. It only takes about 5 minutes!
  • Refreshingly Crisp and Tangy – The balance of sweet apple cider and spicy ginger ale offers a crisp bite, while the lemon juice provides just the right amount of tang.

How to Make Apple Cider Punch

Core and slice the apple, and cut the orange and lemon into thin slices.

Glass pitcher with cinnamon sticks and orange slices, with apple cider being poured in.

Grab a 2.5 quart pitcher (80 ounces) and add the fruit and cinnamon sticks to it. You could also double or triple the recipe for a crowd and serve in a punch bowl.

Whiskey added to pitcher of apple cider punch.

Pour lemon juice, apple cider, and Ginger Ale into the pitcher. If you want to make this a cocktail for adults only, feel free to add whiskey, bourbon, or a spiced liquor.

Give the punch a quick stir, but not too vigorously, because it can reduce the carbonation. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.

How to Serve

You can use a large pitcher or a punch bowl to serve the punch. It’s always more fun with garnishes, so make sure to have some on hand for party-goers to add to their glasses, like orange or lemon slices or cinnamon sticks.

Recipe Tips

  • If you want or need to add ice to your punch, do so just before serving. Larger ice cubes or even an ice ring (like from a jello mold) will melt more slowly and help keep it from watering down the punch.
  • This recipe makes about 8 glasses of punch. You can easily make more by doubling or tripling the recipe.
  • If you’d like to make it an adults-only beverage, I recommend using rum (spiced or dark), whiskey, or bourbon. Each of these will pair well with the apple cider and the fall flavors.
  • If you have any leftover punch, you can store it in the fridge for a couple of days. If ice was added, it will water down the drink, so you may want to just discard any leftovers.

Fresh lemon juice is always better, but in a pinch you could use store bought.
