RECIPE WALK-THROUGH
Ingredient Notes
- Almond Bark – This helps the chocolate clusters set and ensures that they’re creamy, smooth, and not too sweet.
- Dark Chocolate and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips – You can use all dark chocolate if you prefer to make a richer, dark chocolate treat.
- Peanuts – I like to use salted peanuts for a sweet and salty candy, but you can use unsalted peanuts too.
How To Make Crockpot Candy
See the recipe card below for full, detailed instructions
- Simply dump the almond bark and chocolate into your slow cooker on low heat.
- Cover the lid and let everything melt together for 1 hour, then give it a stir and continue cooking for another 30 minutes.
- Turn off the slow cooker and stir in the peanuts.
- Drop tablespoon-sized clusters onto a lined cookie sheet. I like to add holiday sprinkles on top of each cluster for a more festive look, but that’s optional.
Serving Suggestions
I love to wrap these up to gift to family and friends. You can also serve them as part of your Christmas cookie trays.

Storage Tips
How To Store the Candy
Make sure to let candies harden at room temperature for about 2 hours before storing. If you’re in a hurry, you can pop them in the fridge to set faster.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks or in the refrigerator for up to one month.
Recipe Tips
- Microwave Option – Add the almond bark and chocolate to a very large, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium power for 1-minute intervals, stirring between each. Make sure your microwave is on medium power (not high!); otherwise, the chocolate can bake instead of melt. Once everything is melted together, stir in the peanuts and drop them into clusters onto your cookie sheet, as detailed in the instructions below.
- Make a White Chocolate Version – Simply replace the chocolate almond bark with white almond bark, and the semi-sweet chocolate and dark chocolate with white chocolate.
- Gift Wrapping – You can wrap your candy up with festive cellophane bags or use holiday tins for an easy, delicious gift.

Can you add some melted caramel to
Melted chocolate and SWIRL it in before
Adding the nuts or add them together
And swirl & then drop? I love chocolate
and caramel nut clusters!
Called Turtles, but crockpot method sounds
easy and great!
Yes you could add caramel into this recipe. I think it would be delicious!
This sounds delicious, but I am not sure about which kind of dark chocolate to purchase. Is it in a bar like the almond bark or baking chocolate and with the other bar type chocolates and chocolate chips, etc.? Thanks for your help.
You can find it in a bar, like Baker’s brand.
