Chicken Caesar Wrap Recipe Highlights

  • Better Than Fast Food – These healthy chicken wraps are a (loose) remake of the classic offering from Chick-fil-A. I’m happy anytime I can make a healthier version of our take-out favorites at home!
  • Easy Lunch Idea – You can put just about anything in a wrap, from Chicken Salad to Shrimp Avocado Salad, but the Chicken Caesar Wrap is by far my favorite!
  • Healthy and Filling – Chicken wraps make excellent lunch box meals or just a simple lunch at home. Packed with protein and loaded with greens, they are great when you need a healthy dinner on the go, or just something quick that everyone will love.

What you need

Ingredients for Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps

I love that this chicken wrap only has a handful of ingredients that I usually already have in my kitchen.

  • Romaine Lettuce – A must for any Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap!
  • Cooked Chicken – You can use any leftover chicken you have on hand, like Grilled Chicken, Baked Chicken Breast, or even rotisserie chicken.
  • Caesar Dressing – I’m using a bottled dressing for these wraps, but you can also make it from scratch like in this Caesar Salad recipe.
  • Bacon – Cooked and crumbled. While it’s not traditionally part of a Caesar salad, I like the smokiness and saltiness it adds. You can skip it if you don’t have any bacon on hand.
  • Tomatoes
  • Parmesan Cheese – I like freshly grated for this recipe (if possible).
  • Croutons – While I absolutely love my Homemade Croutons, I think Olive Garden Croutons are the next best thing!
  • Black Pepper
  • Flour Tortilla – I use 12″ tortillas to fit the filling.

How To Make A Chicken Caesar Wrap

See the recipe card below for full, detailed instructions

Make the salad: Combine in a large bowl the lettuce, chicken, dressing, tomatoes, bacon, Parmesan cheese, and fresh black pepper. Add a pinch of salt if you wish, but taste it first. Stir in some roughly crumbled croutons for crunch.

Assemble the chicken wrap: Lay a tortilla on a flat surface (Pro Tip: warm it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds first to make it pliable). Top with the salad mixture, right down the middle. Fold up the sides of the tortilla like a burrito.

Slice: Stick toothpicks in both sides of the wrap and make a diagonal cut right across the middle to split it in half. The toothpicks help to hold the chicken wrap together and keep the filling from falling out.

Recipe Tips

  • Tortillas – Make the tortillas more pliable by warming them in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds before filling.
  • Serving Size – One large wrap, as described in the recipe below, is very filling, and can really be shared by two people with a serving of fruit or potato salad on the side.
  • Healthier Versions – You can make these chicken wraps a little healthier, by using small amounts of a low-fat Caesar salad dressing, omitting the bacon, and using a whole wheat tortilla instead of a regular flour tortilla.
  • Use Toothpicks – Stick toothpicks in both sides of the wrap and make a diagonal cut right across the middle to split it in half. The toothpicks help to hold the chicken wrap together and keep the filling from falling out.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Chicken Caesar Wraps with typical lunchtime sides. For something really simple, potato chips, pickles, and fruit will do. If you want more of a picnic feel, serve with some cold salads, like Hawaiian Macaroni Salad, Lemon Herb Red Potato Salad, or Mediterranean Green Bean Salad.

Storage Tips

Make Ahead and Storage

Make Ahead – You can prep all of the ingredients for these chicken wraps in advance. I suggest waiting until just before serving to assemble since the dressing can wilt the lettuce a bit. When making for lunch boxes, skip the dressing and serve it as a dip on the side.

Storage – Store ingredients separate from the dressing and if kept in airtight containers in the fridge they will last several days. Read my tips for how to store lettuce to keep it fresh for at least a week.
